Biographical Info

I believe in the strength and potential of every person. I have found that everyone I meet has the capacity to learn and grow. To that end, I have found that therapy is often about helping a person to overcome the obstacles that prevent them living a more fulfilling, connected, and meaningful life.

I graduated from Widener University, known in the field as the top school for the study of Human Sexuality, from the dual Masters program for Social Work and Human Sexuality. The focus of my studies was on clinical applications of both fields. I have since been working full time as a Psychotherapist, and while I find great value in my education, I also have found it true that every person I see has their own story to tell and that my listening first is always the best place to start. As a social worker, I strive always to be culturally competent and aware of the limitations of my viewpoint.

Reflecting my sense of curiosity, I have a diversity of training, including the application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Biofeedback, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and of course Sex Therapy.

I find that I work very well with sexual and gender minorities (such as LGBTQIAP, or people practicing kink or non-monogamy), as well as intellectual and religious minorities. I recognize that being a member of any given group typically highlights points of strength for a person, even if the cultural stigma is a source of stress.

I have particular expertise in working with issues of depression, anxiety, panic attacks, sexual dysfunction, relationship dysfunctions, and attachment issues. I primarily work with individuals, couples, and poly systems.
